WOW—WYOMING ON WELLNESS

The role of the wellness program is to partner with employees to improve their health and well-being, promote health and wellness and to reduce health care costs. 

This website is here to offer a wealth of health-related information and resources.

Our goal is to encourage you to:

  • participate in your agencies wellness program and activities,
  • be physically active every day,
  • eat a nutritious diet,
  • get preventive screenings,
  • and make healthy choices.  

                            

2nd Year for Healthier WY -  Employee Wellness Program                            

 

 

 Healthier WY is currently is its 2nd year.  Again it is available to all participants in the Wyoming State Employees’ Group Insurance Health Plan, including those who are employed at community colleges and the University of Wyoming, as well as those retired employees who continue their health insurance through the state plan.

 As part of the program individuals have an opportunity to reduce their health care premiums by the year 2011.  You will receive through the mail, around October 15, 2009 a personalized Wellness Insurance Premium Discount form (see sample form below).  Please watch for it and do not discard.  You will need to return this form in the envelope provided, as part of the Healthier WY program.

 

 

The requirements of the program are as follows:

 

To receive a $40 per month wellness insurance premium discount, a total of $480 for plan year 2011, the following three Healthier WY requirements must be completed no later than September 30, 2010.

1.      Complete the Great-West Healthcare Health Risk Assessment online between October 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010 and receive a separate $50 incentive.  Log on to:  http://www.mygreatwest.com (incentive is only for the employee – not dependents)

2.      Receive an annual physical/wellness exam by a licensed healthcare provider between October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010

3.      Register at www.healthierwy.org and participate in at least three out of the six offered monthly programs and adhere to the guidelines

 

Please note that dependants are NOT eligible for any of the incentive programs within Healthier WY.  Dependants can take their Health Risk Assessment through www.mygreatwest.com  but will not receive the incentive.

Worksite Wellness Toolkit

The Worksite Wellness Toolkit was distributed to Agency Directors in May of 2006.  The Governor's Office asked agency directors to have a wellness coordinator in each agency.
